Ask a Question
Can I be liabile for a car accident I was not involved in?
My car had stalled on the freeway so I immediately put on my hazard lights. I called highway patrol and informed them that a car was stalled in the middle of the freeway. Thankfully, there were no accidents as I was waiting for my tow truck. I had also surrounded my vehicle with reflective triangles.
The issue is that as the tow truck arrived an accident occurred involving two separate cars none of which was the tow truck or myself. Could I be at fault for the accident even though I wasn’t involved in it? A driver in the collision is trying to insist that it was due to my vehicle distracting him from the road, is why he found himself in an accident.
