Pennsylvania Police Intensify Interstate 80 Traffic Law Enforcement
More people may soon need a traffic ticket lawyer in Pennsylvania. Last week, the “I-80 Highway Challenge,” kicked off with police ramping up enforcement efforts during Interstate 80’s busiest season.
More police will be out across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, enforcing traffic safety laws like:
- Speeding
- Driving while intoxicated
- Not wearing a seat belt
- Reckless driving of any sort
Col. Rick Fuentes, superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, issued a statement saying:
“During this critically important traffic safety initiative, troopers will be on patrol to ensure that drivers are obeying New Jersey traffic laws and arriving at their summer-time destination safely.”
The ramped up police presence will include more enforcement in all 11 states that I-80 passes through, from California right across to New Jersey. The goal is to have zero deaths during the eight-day challenge.
Police will be visibly out on the highway in major numbers. Police officials hope that drivers seeing more police will drive safely and result in fewer accidents and (ideally) no serious injuries or fatalities.
If you have been issued a ticket, you can always fight it. Feel free to speak with one of our traffic ticket attorneys at any time to discuss your options.
